Humber Business Growth Hub – Support Interventions in the Humber

We thought we would break down the most recent round of government funding to help you get to grips with what ‘Growth Grant’ your business may be entitled to.

With updates coming out from the government on an almost daily basis, we understand it can be difficult to figure out what you are eligible for. We have received news about an amazing local grant that will help businesses located within the Humber region. This is called the ICT for Growth Grant and it is helping business to support home working. This grant is available to help businesses claim back some of their costs outlaid to get their staff working remotely. If you have paid for hardware or software to help set up remote workers in your businesses you may be able to claim up to 40% of the costs back from the government.

Helping Your Workforce Work From Home

That means you could buy PCs, Laptops and software to get your team working remotely and claim the 40% back. This also covers costs of moving to a cloud based system for anything from document storage to online communication tools.

The grant is available to businesses now and to make things easier we’ve outlined the details below:

Grant to cover 40% of the new hardware and software bought for remote workers.
40% to cover proposals totalling £2,500 – £25,000.

To apply you will need to fill out an application form, provide your last set of company accounts, a bank statement and one written quote for the required goods. You should hear within 3 working days whether your business has been accepted. As this is a Humber business support venture you can contact business.investment@hull.cc.gov.uk for further assistance or to check your business is eligible for funding.

There are many other grants and funding available including support for paying business tax, SSP refunds and Coronavirus Business Interruption Loans for SME’s. See the attached PDF from the Humber Business Growth Hub for further details.

As you may know the demand for laptops and PCs is huge at the moment, this has left many suppliers struggling to get stock.
